NEWTON — “Stop the Lines! Stop the Lines! Stop the Lines!” was the chant which was heard coming from the square in Newton from as far away as Trinity Street.

Approximately two hundred citizens gathered in opposition of the PSE&G Susquehanna-Roseland Project on May 29. Speakers were there from Stop The Lines, Fredon PALS (Parents Against the Lines) and Stop Riverbank Sparta to address the crowd.

Members of local government including Andover Mayor Bob Smith and Byram Town Councilman Scott Olson were in attendance. Tom Hill of Stop the Lines said if the PSE&G project is stopped, the Sparta Riverbank project will also be. Representatives of PSE&G were not present at the event.
